After coming back from a tough loss against Army, Temple was ready to fight. Stony Brook, who won their first game against North Dakota was in for a rude awakening. The Owls have been going hard on the field and it definitely showed early Friday afternoon. In the first half, the Owls’ teamwork was spectacular. To start the game off, running back Ryquell Armstead scored a touchdown early to put the Owls up 6. The excitement didn’t stop there as freshman Isaiah Wright came in with a great run and senior tight end Jake O’Donnell finished with a nice catch to boost Temple up to 13-0. In the second half, Temple continued to prosper. Stony Brook just could not keep up. Temple soon finished off the game with a monstrous victory of 38-0, making this their first win.
With a solid record of 10-4 for the 2015-2016 season, the Owls are only looking to be better. This season is going to be a prodigious one. With a historical record of 11-0, the Owls know what they need to do in order to keep the momentum going from last season.
The hope is to not only beat Penn State again, but take it a step further and win the American Athletic Conference. They came so close last season, but were no match against a powerful Houston team. With hard work and grit, Temple football can achieve everything and more.
